Training at Trinity Labrador Retrievers

HRCH UH Trinity's Riptide River Rush

Tierra began her training career at age 16 with two adult females and one very young pup, she had told us that she wanted to get a male and start running hunt tests.  Tierra has always been a person that completes what she starts out to do so we made an agreement with her that if she would take Trinity's Sassy Senorita of Riverwood and Trinity's Lotta Miracles through their started and junior titles that we would let her have a pup from whatever female and stud dog that she wanted.  She passed Sassy and Lottie through their started titles in straight passes and had signed them up for Juniors when both girls came into heat ruining her plans.  We decided to change the deal a bit and she took Trinity's Gremlin Reaper (born 04/02/06) at the last minute and titled her in Started and then in Juniors to earn her pup.  Tierra had decided that she wanted us to breed SHR Trinity's Lotta Miracles to FC Running With The Devil '01 NDC and she would keep a black male from that litter as her male.  At the same time we bred SHR Trinity's Sassy Senorita Of Riverwood to FC AFC Cuda's Blue Ryder MH.  In a very unique turn of events Lottie and Devil did not produce any black pups (Devil was Black carrying chocolate and yellow - Lottie is Chocolate Carrying Yellow) they produced all chocolate pups except one yellow female and even she was brindle (chocolate points); Devil had not thrown his black gene not one single time.  Again Tierra's plan had to be modified, she was going to keep a chocolate male from Lottie and Devil; I however thought that if she was going to keep a chocolate male then it should have the best pedigree it could possibly get and so I talked her into considering a pup from Sassy and Ryder.  Tierra began playing with the two chocolate males from Sassy and Ryder and even though she knew that we had already sold the first pick of chocolate male to Tom Neel she ultimately fell in love with the biggest, darkest male and he fell in love with her.  When Tom came to pick his male we were ready to give him all of his money back, whatever it took to make sure that Tierra ended up with the puppy that she had  bonded with.  Tom commented later that there was no way he could have broken Tierra's heart again, he decided to take the other male and we have been great friends and indebted to Tom ever since. This chocolate male was HRCH UH Trinity's Riptide Ryder MH CGC.

We live in Southeastern Ohio about 50 minutes from WV and 50 minutes from KY and because of being so far from the Flyaway there are no other people that we know of in this area of Ohio that train or compete with retrievers, Tierra has had to learn from books and the school of hard knocks.  We are members of the Ohio River HRC Club and West Central HRC Club but both clubs are located about 2 to 2 1/2 hours away making it difficult to get together on more than an occasional training day.  Tierra has really impressed those that know her and how dedicated she has been to becoming a great trainer.  I know as her mother I could not be more impressed or proud of her accomplishments and dedication to learning her craft, may she never stop learning and endeavoring to becoming always better.

As of Nov. 2011 Tierra has trained HRCH UH Trinity's Riptide Ryder MH CGC (610 HRC points, 16 MH passes, & Passed the 2011 Master Nationals), HRCH UH Trinity's Gremlin Reaper MH CGC (Qualified for 2011 Master Nationals - Went 3 series), HRCH UH Trinity's Riptide River Rush MH CGC (Youngest Upland Hunter in History; Youngest Chocolate Hunting Retriever Champion in History, and MH title at 22 months old) (Qualified for 2011 Master National and went 3 series), HRCH Trinity's God Of Thunder SH (1 Master Hunter Pass), SHR Trinity's Lady Of The Lake, SHR Trinity's Lotta Miracles CGC, SHR Trinity's Sassy Senorita of Riverwood JH  & helped her sister train SHR Trinity's Risen From The Ashes JH  for Trinity Labrador Retrievers and client dogs.  Tierra is accepting applications for new client dogs at this time.
